A Run Through Napoleon Dynamite Country
Q: Why did you run 100 miles? A: Because I felt like it. Gosh!
To get a good perspective of the run terrain, look at the mountains in the background during the tetherball scene near the end of Napoleon Dynamite. You can see the ridgeline area between Bloomington and German Dugway.
No application for entry will be taken from anyone under 18 years of age on the date the application is signed.
The Bear 100 requires that you complete at least 8 hours of trail work, or volunteer work for an ultrarunning event (not pacing), in order to be accepted to run. This application will be conditionally accepted in that we must also receive a copy of your trail work report in order for you to participate. If time won't allow, you can have someone else do the work for you, or share the work (say, each of you work 4 hours for a total of 8 hours), but you must have your trail work report signed by someone from the Forest Service, race director, or land use manager. If you prefer, we can find someone to do the work for you at a cost of $80.00. Contact Leland Barker at (435) 563-3647 for that option.
